Please pull out your prayers of the biggest kind...we need help.  Vicky, who is a friend of Gitzen Girl has been told she has breast cancer this week.  Not only breast cancer, but invasive, agressive, and stage three.  She begins chemotherapy Saturday.

I have Vicky's button in my side bar and you can grab it to put it on your blog, or you can just link to Vicky's blog.  Please let Vicky know you are thinking or her or praying for her.

This is the post from Gitzen Girl:

YOU:create … for Vicky

"All Shall Be Well" is the phrase my friends
Vicky and Robin and I have been constantly
typing to each other this past week.

In this one week, Vicky's life changed
on a dime. Breast cancer just aren't
words a person is ever prepared to hear.
"Invasive" and "aggressive" and "stage three"
are ones you never want to hear behind them.

In this one week, Vicky has gone from an ultrasound
to mammogram to biopsy to diagnosis. Today she
will have a PET scan to be sure it hasn't
spread further than they think, and tomorrow
she begins chemotherapy.

One week.

A whole new world.

A whole new language of medicine and stages
and treatments.

But she will have the same people who love
her, standing with her and beside her. Loving
her and praying for her and supporting her
every step of the way.

Vicky was one of my very first blog friends.
She has peppered me with questions that have challenged me and prompted me to look deeper
and write deeper. She held me up when I felt
weak, and when our Dads died within days of
each other, we grieved together.

Now, we are going to fight together.

Will you join me in praying for my friend?

For my project this week, I created the
blog button you see above. That's our
smiling Vicky… all shall be well is her
motto. If you want to visit her blog and
leave her a comment of support, just
click on the button. If you want to
add the button to your sidebar, right
click within the box underneath to
select all, copy and then paste it
into your own blog. It will remain
available on my sidebar under "Blog

Thanks in advance for supporting and
loving on Vicky. She is one in a million."

I have been in a fragile state of mind of late.  When they announced on the news that we sent missiles to Libya yesterday, all I could do was cry.  All I could think was "another war" to send our innocent young citizens to and to have it change their lives forever.

I know God is in this, and I know He is allowing it.  I know we all have to trust in God's purpose.  I'm scared.  I'm praying for God to take away my fear and replace it with calm, peace of mind, even Joy.  I have to trust Him and His word, for without it, I have nothing.

We will never escape war, as much as I wish that was true.  Our parents had to deal with it, as did their parents and so on.  But will we ever really understand the full reason for war?  Does it really just come down to "power"?  And how do these leaders become so charismatic that they can get so many followers, even over God?

Of course, we see that in churches, too.  Even movie stars, sports figures, and other big talent.  People worship them!  Shame on us.  We have to recognize there is only one God and worship that one God.  We all become guilty at one time or another, but we do need to be more aware of what we're doing.  Who are we giving all of our power to?

Until next time,
Keep it from the heart,

Grace Under Fire

I am under attack from all sides right now, but I can still see light.  God will always bring me light, as long as I keep my eyes fixed on Him.

Father God, you are number one in my life.  May you keep me reminded of that if I stumble off the path that always leads me to you.

I thank you for:

a father, loved and still alive at age 83

a mother, though deceased, still alive in memories and dreams

a father's love, strong and true

a mother's love, indescribable

twelve little paws, all racing to find the best place in bed at bedtime every night

a home, warm against the elements

flowered string lights in my bedroom to keep out the dark

a computer, link to the world

the internet, link to the world

the rain, to refresh the air and water the wildlife

the snow, to help freeze the ground and renew life

banana cream pie, the sweetness on my tongue

Until next time,
Keep it from the heart,

The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
